Comfortable Jeans Are All I Want to Wear This Winter—These 4 Pairs Are the Perfect Fit

It may be the beginning of a new year, but for me, January is still about being cozy and comfortable. (I usually come out of my winter hibernation and start thinking about fresh new pieces to enliven my wardrobe around March.) For now, I'm leaning into my comfy closet, and while I'd love to wear cozy sweatpants all day, every day, I do still have to go out into the world—the office, meetings, events, etc.—which is where my comfortable jeans come in.

Comfy jeans are the hero piece of my winter wardrobe. When I'm wearing jeans, I inherently look like I made more of an effort than when I'm wearing leggings or sweatpants, but the comfortable jeans I talk of are made of soft and cozy fabrics, and "easy to move in," relaxed silhouettes that are far more gentle on my soul! Paired with the right top, blazer or coat, they can look incredibly polished and put-together.

Below, I want to share four pairs of comfortable jeans that I am living in this season (and beyond) that are soft, easy, and a joy to put on. Keep scrolling to take a look and then shop more comfy jeans I have my eye on.

Still Here Cool Jeans

Judith Jones in a white tee and Still Here Cool Jeans.

My Still Here Cool Jeans are one of my favorites in my closet. Not only are the jeans trend-forward and a favorite among the fashion set and celebs (we often see Zoë Kravitz wearing a pair), but they are also super comfortable. They feature a relaxed, wide-leg, low-rise silhouette with an adjustable toggle string. They're made of Still Here's Cloud fabric—the brand says it is "the softest denim in the world"—which is made from 100% cotton using advanced weaving technology to achieve a super-airy and drapey feel. Every time I wear these, I get compliments on them. They're a little on the pricey side, but I promise you won't regret them, especially if you like a relaxed, low-rise silhouette.

Rag & Bone Miramar Drawstring Pants

Judith Jones in Rag & Bone jeans and a sweater.

My colleague Sierra Mayhew wrote about Rag & Bone's sweatpant jeans last fall, and of course, I just had to try them for myself. The viral Miramar Pants are quite literally sweatpants disguised as jeans. Unlike traditional jeans, they don't have a zip fly. They're true pull-on sweatpants, and all the details such as the pockets, the fly, and the stitching, are a graphic print—a revolutionary printing technique Rag & Bone has created that makes any material look like denim. Believe me. At a glance, they really do look like denim. They're cut and sewn from cotton terry cloth that's ultra-soft on the inside and outside. There are several styles in the Miramar collection, and I particularly like the drawstring wide-leg pants that ooze a more casual feel that's perfect for the weekend. They're also a really good option for traveling in when you want to feel comfortable yet still look polished.

AG Saige Wide Leg Jeans

Fashion editor Judith Jones in white relaxed AG jeans, a navy sweater, and red sneakers.

I adore these flattering jeans, and if you're looking for a comfy white pair, this is an excellent option. They're made from AG's Cloud Soft Denim, a special twill construction that gets softer with every wear. This mid-rise silhouette is easy to move in and features a relaxed wide leg. Pair them with an elevated knit for a chic winter look.

Agolde 90's Pinch Waist High Rise Straight Jeans

Judith Jones in Agolde '90s Pinch Straight Jeans and a brown turtleneck.

When it comes to dressing for the office or meetings when I still want to feel comfortable, I turn to my Agolde 90's Pinch Waist High Rise Jeans. I've owned these for a number of years, and they've become softer with wear. They feature a straight-leg silhouette but are relaxed through the leg and versatile enough to wear with heels and flats alike. They're made from 100% regenerative cotton, so even through they have a nonstretch finish, they soften over time. This is a great pair when you need to look chic but also be comfy from day to night.
