I Just Tried a £100 LED Mask From Boots—Here's Why I Love It

It's no secret that some of the best LED masks can set you back a small fortune. While they are every bit worth the investment, if you're yet to try one out, I totally understand the hesitation of dropping £300+ on the skin tool. So, when I heard that Boots had launched its own LED mask for £100, I was immediately intrigued.

Of course, £100 is still a significant amount to spend on a facial device, but when it comes to LED masks, this is easily one of the more affordable ones on the market. Additionally, considering the cost of a salon LED facial, this at-home mask is a much cheaper alternative.

The question is, is it as good as its more expensive counterparts? Here at Who What Wear UK, we like to put the buzziest tools to the test (we've tried everything from the ZIIP device to the NuFace), and this Boots LED mask has certainly been generating a lot of hype. So, I did what any good beauty journalist would do, and called in a sample straight away. I've been trialling it for a few weeks now, and have shared my honest thoughts below.

What Does the Boots LED Face Mask Do?

We all know that most LED masks utilise red light to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, while also reducing inflammation in the skin. However, what's great about this Boots mask (and incredibly impressive, considering the price) is that it comes with four different LED treatment modes to tackle a wide range of skincare concerns.

Of course, it features a red mode to promote smoother-looking skin, but it also has a yellow mode for brightening, a green mode for balancing and a purple mode for minimising the appearance of pores.

Boots LED Face Mask Features

Treatment settings: As mentioned, this mask comes with four different treatment settings: red, yellow, green and purple.

The mask: While many LED masks are made of flexible silicone, this mask features a more rigid design. It comes with a handy head strap, and the best part is that you simply have to press a button at the top of the mask to turn it on, allowing you to move around whilst wearing it instead of having to hold a remote. Inside the box you'll find the mask, a USB cable for charging, the mask strap and the instruction manual.
