'No action' reminder over nuclear emergency text
People are being reminded to "not take action" over nuclear emergency text messages which could be sent to some residents on the east coast of Jersey.
Officials in the French department of Manche will be carrying out a test for Flamanville nuclear power plant on Thursday, to check whether the alert system is reliable in the case of a nuclear incident.
The Government of Jersey said some islanders could expect to their mobile phones to receive a French text message accompanied by "a brief, high-pitched alert tone".

"Please be advised that this is a routine test and no action is required, as it is similar to the UK's emergency alert trial conducted last month," the government said.
It is believed people within 20km (12.4 miles) of the power plant whose phone is connected to French mobile communication networks might get the alert.
The test could also include activation of sirens, radio broadcasts and other public alert systems.
