US: S&P 500, Nasdaq open near record levels after May inflation data

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened near record levels on Wednesday (Jun 11), as a cooler-than-expected inflation report calmed concerns around tariff-driven price pressures and fanned expectations for interest rate cuts.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 16.0 points, or 0.04 per cent, at the open to 42,882.86.
The S&P 500 rose 10.6 points, or 0.18 per cent, at the open to 6,049.38, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 64.4 points, or 0.33 per cent, to 19,779.355 at the opening bell. REUTERS
