US: Wall St opens higher after Fed indicates more rate cuts

Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Thursday (Sep 18), a day after the US central bank delivered a quarter-point interest rate cut, while chipmaker Intel climbed after Nvidia decided to build a stake in the company.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 38.2 points, or 0.08 per cent, at the open to 46,056.55.

The S&P 500 rose 26.5 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 6,626.85​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 177.8 points, or 0.80 per cent, to 22,439.111. REUTERS
